James, who is originally from the South-West of England, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of the West of England before continuing his studies in London at the Universities of Westminster and Greenwich.

Prior to establishing James Williamson Architects in early 2020, James worked at several award-winning practises in the UK and internationally. He has designed and built a variety of projects for both end-users and developers, ranging from small single-family home extensions and renovations to multi-unit new build apartments.

James Williamson is registered as an architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects. The ARB was established as an independent, public interest body to regulate the architects’ profession in the UK, and to ensure that good standards within the profession are consistently maintained for the benefit of the public and architects alike.

James has completed advanced sustainability qualifications and this specialist knowledge is applied to our projects from concept design through to handover, ensuring client's can make informed decisions about their homes and the environment.
