Hook Heath Detached House Renovation
Neglected Hook Heath home transformed into a multi-level family residence with seamless indoor-outdoor living.
In Hook Heath, Woking, we reimagined a semi-derelict detached house on a sloping site into a light-filled, multi-level family home. The design makes full use of the site’s natural contours, creating generous living spaces indoors and out while enhancing the home’s flow and connection to its landscaped gardens.
A new lower ground floor provides two bedrooms and a bathroom with direct garden access — a private retreat for family or guests. The reconfigured ground floor combines kitchen, dining, and living spaces into a single open-plan hub, leading out to a raised, partially covered terrace for outdoor dining and entertaining. Upstairs, four spacious bedrooms include a master suite with a walk-in wardrobe and luxury en-suite.
The project required careful structural underpinning to stabilise the property and support the additional floor, alongside full upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems. Every element — from the terrace design to the open-plan interiors — was planned to maximise natural light and create a harmonious connection between levels.
The result is a stylish, functional home that blends modern living with the character of one of Woking’s most desirable areas — proof that with thoughtful architecture, even neglected properties can become exceptional family homes.
