Kensington Cottage Renovation

Heritage Kensington cottage reimagined with bright, modern interiors and seamless garden connection.

In the heart of the Kensington Conservation Area, our clients wanted a home that balanced heritage charm with light-filled, modern living. The existing cottage was full of character but lacked space, flow, and natural light.

We carefully renovated the original structure, preserving its façade and period details, while adding a sympathetic rear extension. This created an open-plan kitchen and dining space, a generous master suite, and improved connections to the landscaped garden. Large glazed elements, rooflights, and frameless glass transitions bring daylight deep into the home, while bespoke joinery and energy-efficient systems enhance comfort and usability.

Working within strict conservation guidelines, we collaborated closely with local conservation officers to ensure every material and detail complemented the historic setting. From early feasibility studies and heritage impact assessments to on-site supervision, we guided the project through every stage.

The result is a cottage that retains its historic character from the street, yet opens into bright, flowing spaces designed for contemporary life — proof that heritage properties can be both timeless and tailored for modern living.
