Complaints
Complaints procedure
If something has gone wrong, James wants to hear about it directly. Most concerns are settled with a conversation, and that is always the first thing to try. This page sets out what happens if a conversation is not enough.
How to make a complaint
Put it in writing to James Williamson, by email to james@jameswilliamson.archi or by post to James Williamson Architects Ltd, Unit 6 Albion House, High Street, Woking GU21 6BG. Please include your name, the address of the project, what happened and when, and what you would like done about it. If you have already raised it in a call or on site, say so, because that helps James pick up where that conversation left off.
What happens next
Your complaint is acknowledged within 48 hours. You receive a full written response within fourteen days. If it needs longer, for example because it depends on information from a contractor or a council, you are told why and given a date.
James replies personally, usually within two working days. A complaint is handled by James himself, not passed to anyone else, because he leads every project personally and will know the decisions behind it.
If you are not satisfied
James is registered with the Architects Registration Board, number 088216J. A complaint about an architect's conduct or competence may be referred to the Board, which regulates the profession in the United Kingdom. Its process is explained at arb.org.uk, and you can check the register entry for James at architects-register.org.uk.
